Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I actually get my hull cleaned?
It depends on where your boat sits and how often you run it, but in Gold Coast waters, slime and barnacles move fast. Most owners get a light wipe-down every 4 to 6 weeks during summer when the water is warm, and stretch it to 8 to 12 weeks in winter. Waiting until you notice a speed drop usually means marine growth has already set in.
Will underwater cleaning scrub off my anti-foul paint?
Not if it’s done right. We use different brushes and pads depending on how soft or hard your paint is and how heavy the growth is. The goal is to clear off the algae and barnacles without stripping away your protective coating.
Do I need to be there when you clean the boat?
Nope. As long as we have clear access to the vessel at your marina berth, pontoon, or swing mooring, you don’t need to take time off work. We’ll send you the HD video footage once the job is wrapped up so you can see exactly how everything looks underwater.
How do I know if my anodes need replacing?
A good rule of thumb is to replace them once they’ve worn down by about 50%. During every hull clean, we check your zincs or aluminium anodes and let you know their condition in your video report so you can swap them out before electrolysis starts damaging your prop or shaft.
